It only happened after we connected the copper water line.
The fridge has been in use for 2 months with no problem, until now.
I reconfigured the wiring so that the outlet behind the fridge is not gf(c)i, now it works fine.
I tested the case of the fridge to see if it had any voltage potential and, of course, it doesn’t.
I put an ammeter around the copper supply line and couldn’t see any current.
Any thoughts on why this happened?
Incidentally, it’s an old sub-zero, but new to us.
I neglected to mention that none of the circuits in the place are grounded (old apartment complex), so I added gfci protection in most places.

I just wanted to know how they are able to make freezers and refrigerators so cold, do they put mini chillers inside of them? Or something else?

When I watch veterinary clinics/veterinary hospitals tours on youtube I see that they always have refrigerators (and I’m not talking about the ones in the employee lounge/break rooms) but I never understood why they have them. Can someone please tell me what are the refrigerators use for?
Thank you guys! I understand fully now.

Especially with incandescent manufacturing ceasing. The fluorescent bulbs of today, wouldn’t survive. My microwave may cook the starter as well. You could get what you want from your freezer before a CF bulb glimmers. let alone get to full brightness. Are all incandescent bulbs to be extinct soon?

I am looking to replace my refrigerator, rather than wait for it to die. Which are the most reliable yet economical, home refrigerators?

I’m 15, and 125 pounds. I’m not seriously overweight, but I’m kind of chunky, so I want to lose a few pounds.
Today I was just going to have a 6" veggie sub from Subway and some water for lunch. Then, for some reason I still don’t understand, I ate two pieces of this peanut butter cup dessert that I found in the refrigerator. Then, I had a leftover buttered dinner roll. Then, to top it all off, I had two granola bars.
So instead of eating about 250 calories like I had originally planned, I ended up eating around 750.
I am SO mad at myself, especially since I ate way too much yesterday, and the day before that.
Is there anything I can do to keep from gaining weight and feeling so awful about myself for overeating? I guess I’ll just plan on exercising a lot and not eating much the rest of the day.

I know they used a lot of salt, but what did they do, submerge the food in salt, the same way people use ice in a cooler? Was there any other way? In the winter did they bury the food outside so it would stay cold?

The support is a round peg and the break is a verticle one. I don’t have any way to put a vice on it if that is required. I can hold it for a minute or so, but I don’t know if that is sufficient.

I got help from someone named TOTALLY BORED in a previous questions on this subject. Now there now seems to be a problem controlling defrosting. What apparatus in the refrigerator is this and is it a separate item or part of the sealed system?

It’s been years and I haven’t needed to defrost this refrigerator. What do they do differently? It seems like condensation is inevitable. It seems like the water must leave the air somewhere…

The cut off type Voltage Stabilizers power the refrigerator through power relay so as to keep the refrigerator on .Thus the relay remains energized and consume power throughout its operation. Does this reduce the efficiency factor of the Device as it consumes power to keep the Device ( Voltage Stabilizer ) powered through its operation ?

With a solar refrigerator, the parts of the refrigerator – the compressor, condenser, and other components don’t change. The only thing that changes is how the energy is supplied to the refrigerator. Instead of using an electrical system it uses solar power.
The refrigerant is replaced with ammonia or lithium bromide mixed with water. The heat of the sun is used to increase the pressure of the gas, which turns into a liquid, just like in an electric refrigerator. When the heat is removed, the liquid evaporates and lowers the temperature.

I bought my fridge over 10 years ago. It’s now leaking and I tried to fix it based on info online. It didn’t work. So I’m trying to figure out whether I should see about getting it repaired or buying a new one.
If I do buy another one, I want the freezer on the bottom.
